The Secret to Life - Part One - How To Enjoy Life - Patrick Doherty

The secret to life isn’t really a secret. It’s just that it’s difficult and feels dangerous and most of us want to play it safe. Most of us get that life isn’t about financial security. Happiness isn’t about stuff. But, for a variety of reasons, most of us still get caught up wanting more money and more stuff. Or, just as bad, we find ourselves clinging just little too tightly to our money, or valuing our stuff just a little too much. This manifests itself in working just a little bit longer than we should and keeping other people at arms length. And, before we know it, we’ve missed out on life.

Many bad decisions have been made because we were trapped in a false either/or dilemma. "Either I lie or hurt this relationship". "Either I date this person or wind up lonely". "Either the Bible is true or science is right."  Jesus was constantly confronted with false either/or dilemmas. He shows us a way to see clearly even when we're limited by small thoughts.

Anyone who has wrestled with their own thoughts knows that our minds aren't aren't always on our side. If you've struggled with your thoughts you've probably wished your brain could be exchange for a newer model. Scriptures give us hope that we can actually renew our minds!
